First Reconciliation / Communion Classes are offered to children of all ages. Two years of faith formation are required for a child to receive First Communion. If your child is planning to receive First Holy Communion in the Spring of 2027, please register by August 02, 2026.Religious Education is an invitation for every child to encounter the love of Jesus Christ and grow as His disciple. Through prayer, Sacred Scripture, the teachings of the Catholic Church and preparation for the sacraments, children discover the beauty of God’s plan for their lives and the joy of living the Gospel.
Catechesis is more than learning about the faith - it is growing in friendship with Christ. As the Catechism teaches, ‘The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch, but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ’ (CCC 426). Rooted in this relationship, children are strengthened by God’s grace, formed in virtue and prepared to participate fully in the life and mission of the Church.
‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God’ - Mark 10:14
Parents are the first and foremost educators of their children in the faith. By their love, example, prayer and participation in the Sunday Eucharist, they help their children come to know and follow Christ. The Catechism reminds us that ‘Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children in the faith, prayer and all the virtues’ (CCC 2223).
Our parish is honored to partner with parents in this sacred mission. Together, we seek to nurture children in faith, inspire a lifelong love for Jesus Christ and help them joyfully embrace the gifts of the sacraments and the life of His Church.
‘Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it’ - Proverbs 22:6
